Following the January 22 inauguration of the Ram Temple, Indian Railways will introduce Aastha special trains connecting 66 locations nationwide to Ayodhya. Each train, with 22 coaches, aims to facilitate devotees’ pilgrimage to the newly inaugurated Ram Temple. Ongoing rituals lead up to the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol on this significant day. Initial services will launch from major stations like New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin, and Anand Vihar, with plans to expand based on demand.
Aastha Trains will connect the national capital to cities such as Agartala, Tinsukia, Barmer, Katra, Jammu, Nashik, Dehradun, Bhadrak, Khurda Road, Kottayam, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kazipet. Due to security reasons, train details will not be mentioned in the Passenger Reservation System (PRS), but round-trip tickets can be booked through the IRCTC website and app.
Indian Railways plans nearly 200 special train services with operational stoppages, running from various cities for 100 days post the Ram Mandir opening ceremony.
