PM Modi Honors Manmohan Singh on His 93rd Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his 93rd birth anniversary on Friday.Modi praised Singh’s significant contributions to India during his long public service career. In a post on X, Modi wrote that Singh’s dedication shaped the nation’s progress and development. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi also paid heartfelt tributes to Singh. They remembered Singh as a humble, wise leader who played a crucial role in strengthening India’s economy.

Modi,Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge highlighted Singh’s humility, intellect, and dedication to inclusive governance.

Kharge called him the visionary behind India’s economic transformation and praised his quiet dignity. He credited Singh with opening doors of opportunity through economic reforms. Kharge noted Singh’s efforts to lift millions out of poverty by building a strong middle class. He emphasized Singh’s commitment to fairness, ensuring economic growth matched social welfare initiatives.

Rahul Gandhi also expressed deep admiration for Singh’s leadership and lifelong commitment to the poor. Gandhi praised Singh’s bold decisions to uplift marginalized communities and strengthen India’s economy. He described Singh’s simplicity and integrity as an inspiration for all Indians. Gandhi’s tribute reinforced Singh’s enduring legacy in shaping a more inclusive nation. His message reflected respect and gratitude for Singh’s selfless service.

NCP MP Praful Patel defended Manmohan Singh against terrorism allegations, calling them baseless on Friday.

Patel stressed that no government, including Singh’s, compromises on terrorism threats in India. He claimed Modi’s leadership has strengthened counterterrorism efforts and suggested Modi would have prevented past attacks. Patel pointed out that attacks like 26/11 happened despite Singh’s government’s efforts. His remarks aimed to protect Singh’s patriotism and integrity.

Manmohan Singh was born on September 26, 1932, and was a renowned economist and leader. He served as RBI Governor and India’s Finance Minister, initiating major economic reforms. Singh became India’s 13th Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, launching key welfare programs like MGNREGA. His government introduced the Right to Information Act, promoting transparency and accountability. Singh’s legacy remains tied to transformative policies and inclusive growth.
