Sources disclosed that three Pakistani terrorists, who participated in the June 9 assault on a bus transporting pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, had also targeted an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy in Poonch on May 4. Security Forces Launch Manhunt for Reasi Bus Attack Terrorists
The terrorists have highly trained in jungle warfare, utilize US-made M4 carbines, and are capable of surviving in natural caves for extended periods. Security forces are actively investigating the involvement of additional individuals in the Reasi bus attack. They initiated a large-scale manhunt operation post-attack, with five security agency teams from Reasi tracking the perpetrators. The search also includes security forces from the neighboring districts of Rajouri, Reasi, and Poonch.
The Resistance Front (TRF), a faction of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit, initially claimed responsibility for the attack but later retracted their statement. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the injured at hospitals in Jammu and Reasi and convened a high-level meeting to assess the security situation. The Lt Governor announced a financial aid package of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the victims and Rs 50,000 for those injured in the incident.
