Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi revealed that the Indian Navy stayed fully prepared to launch a sea-based strike against Pakistan during Operation Sindoor and stood just minutes away from action before Pakistan requested a halt to military operations.
Operation Sindoor shows Navy readiness
He emphasized that the Navy maintained a highly aggressive and alert posture throughout the mission. Indian forces initiated Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians. The operation targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Indian forces eliminated over 100 terrorists during the operation. Following several days of military escalation, both nations agreed to a cessation of hostilities on May 10.
Admiral Tripathi stated that the Navy’s swift and decisive actions strengthened national confidence and demonstrated its operational strength to Narendra Modi during a key naval engagement on the western seaboard.
He also noted that the Navy’s strong positioning forced Pakistan’s naval forces to remain near their ports along the Makran coast. He confirmed that Operation Sindoor remains ongoing.
