In its first Cabinet meeting, the BJP-led government in Odisha approved a plan to establish a corpus fund for the 12th-century shrine’s urgent needs and to reopen all four gates of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri early on Thursday morning.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made this statement after presiding over a meeting of his ministers at the state headquarters, Lok Seva Bhawan. In front of all ministers, the state cabinet resolved to reopen the Puri Jagannath temple’s four gates early tomorrow morning. All four gates will lead to the shrine, accessible to devotees, according to Majhi.

Administration Kept Puri Temple Gates Closed Since COVID-19
The chief minister claimed that one of the BJP’s election campaign pledges was to open all temple gates and that the closure of the gates was causing complications for the pilgrims. Since the COVID-19 epidemic, the four temple gates have remained closed by the previous BJD administration. There is just one gate through which the devotees can enter, and it has demand that all gates be open. Majhi stated that the Cabinet determined to establish a corpus fund of Rs 500 crore to handle matters pertaining to the shrine in order to conserve and preserve the temple.

Ministers to Attend Puri Gate Opening; MSP for Paddy to Be Raised to Rs 3,100
The chief minister responded to a question by stating that all ministers will travel to Puri on Wednesday evening and remain in the pilgrim town in order to be present when the four gates open on Thursday morning. Majhi announce that the department in question has order to take action in this regard, adding that the state government will also enhance the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy to Rs 3100 per quintal.

New Farmer Policy ‘Samruddha Krushak Niti Yojana’ to Address MSP and Other Issues
According to him, a committee will be establish very soon to carry out the plan to raise the MSP for paddy to Rs 3100 per quintal. A unique policy called the Samruddha Krushak Niti Yojana will be develop in addition to this to address farmer issues, including MSPs. It has been request that the departments draft appropriate guidelines and a roadmap in this regard and submit them to the government.

The chief minister declared, “This will be complete within the first 100 days of the government.” Majhi asserted that the previous BJD regime’s attempts to advance women’s empowerment and children’s welfare were unsuccessful. Thus, within 100 days, the new administration would launch the Subhdra Yojana, which will provide women with individual cash vouchers worth Rs 50,000.
