Nirmala Sitharaman’s daughter gets married in a quiet ceremony

Parakala Vangamayi, the daughter of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, married Pratik Doshi in a small wedding in Bengaluru. According to accounts, no political officials attended the wedding, which was attended by intimate relatives and friends.

According to The Hindustan Times, a widely shared video on social media captured the wedding, which featured Sitharaman standing behind the bride while Hindu priests performed the ceremonies according to the Vedic code of Adamaru Mutt.

Parakala Vangamayi, a former writer for The Hindu and currently associated with Mint Lounge, exchanged vows with Pratik Doshi, who hails from Gujarat and serves as a key aide to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to multiple sources.

According to the PMO website, Pratik Doshi is an officer on special duty (OSD) who plays an important role in the research and strategy wing, providing secretarial assistance to the Prime Minister on matters such as research and strategy, in accordance with the Government of India (allocation of business) rules, 1961.

Doshi, a Singapore Management School graduate, previously worked as a research assistant in the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure. In June 2019, he was promoted to the rank of joint secretary after relocating to Delhi in 2014 after Modi was appointed Prime Minister.
