Amid the intensifying conflict between Israeli security forces and the Palestinian group Hamas, New Delhi has issued a security alert to prepare for potential protests in the national capital, according to the police.
During Friday prayers, a significant police presence, including a heavy deployment of personnel, will be maintained on the streets. They have enhanced security measures at Jewish places of worship and the Israeli Embassy.
Following the surge in violence in Israel, several nations, including the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany, have increased security measures around “possible Jewish sites” and “pro-Palestinian demonstrators.”

In response to the violent attack on Israel by Hamas, France has imposed a ban on all pro-Palestinian protests for the sake of maintaining public order. Detractors of the ban contend that it encroaches upon freedom of speech and the right to assemble.
Israel launched a furious retaliation after a surprise land-sea-air attack by Hamas resulted in the deaths of 1,300 Israelis. In response, over 1,500 people in Gaza lost their lives. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu swiftly declared a “state of war” and pledged to turn Gaza into rubble.
The initial flight under Operation Ajay successfully transported Indian citizens stranded in Israel due to the ongoing conflict, arriving in New Delhi today.
