Majority Foresees AI’s Transformative Role in Development and Poverty Reduction
Twice as many expect short-term AI benefits, and 77% anticipate long-term impact on development. IPSOS survey for Google reveals 20% prioritize AI-driven economic focus with competition, innovation, and growth. Indian respondents optimistic about AI’s work impact; 80% see individual benefits. In India, 95% discuss AI in the workplace. Globally, 65% mention AI at work, with 52% believing it’s positive.

Prioritize Safety in AI Development, Express Confidence in Collaboration
Almost half of Indian respondents prioritize a ‘safe’ AI approach, with a third emphasizing innovation. A significant 82% advocate for government-tech collaboration in AI development, expressing confidence in both entities. IPSOS conducted the Google survey from October 19 to November 6, 2023, interviewing 17,000 adults across 17 countries, including India. Respondents participated in online interviews using Ipsos panels.
