Indian security forces have pushed back more than 2,000 illegal immigrants into Bangladesh following the launch of Operation Sindoor. Officials confirmed that this extensive operation aims to strengthen border control and prevent unauthorized entry into Indian territory.
Authorities stated that they initiated the crackdown after increased intelligence inputs suggested a surge in illegal cross-border movement. The Border Security Force (BSF), in coordination with local law enforcement agencies, launched intensive surveillance and patrolling activities along the India-Bangladesh border.

The BSF has ramped up the deployment of personnel, night-vision equipment, and drone surveillance to track illegal entries. “We have identified vulnerable crossing points and sealed them off,” a senior BSF officer said. “Our priority is to ensure that no unauthorized person can enter the country.”
According to officials, the operation doesn’t target any specific community but solely focuses on preventing illegal immigration. Many of the individuals caught lacked valid identification or travel documents and admitted to crossing the border in search of work.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has backed the operation and ordered regular updates on its progress. Human rights observers have asked the government to ensure that the deportation process respects international law and humanitarian considerations.
Security agencies have reiterated their commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the national border while ensuring that all actions are lawful and measured. Operation Sindoor continues to expand, with more checkpoints and screening measures being added across the eastern border region.
