On Friday, six schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails, leading to immediate action by police, bomb squads, fire services, and dog squads. The threats were sent at 12:54 am, warning of explosions on Friday and Saturday. Schools targeted included Bhatnagar International School, Cambridge School, DPS Amar Colony, South Delhi Public School, Delhi Police Public School, and Venkateshwar Global School. Parents were promptly alerted, and many students were either sent home or advised to remain at home for safety.

Second Bomb Threat Incident in a Week Raises Alarm
This was the second such incident within a week, following similar threats on December 9, when 44 schools in Delhi were targeted with hoax emails. Authorities deemed those earlier threats baseless after thorough searches found no explosive devices. However, the repetition of these incidents has raised concerns over the safety and mental well-being of students and staff.

AAP Leader Kejriwal Criticizes Repeated Threats
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his concern about the impact of repeated bomb threats on students’ education and mental health. He questioned the effectiveness of law enforcement, stating, “If this continues, how badly will it affect the children? What will happen to their studies?” Kejriwal had also criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the December 9 incident.

Schools Respond with Precautions Amid Investigations
Cambridge School principal Madhavi Goswami, who discovered the email during a routine check, immediately informed the police and shifted to online classes for the day. Other schools also sent students home as a precaution. Delhi Police confirmed that investigations and checks are ongoing to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Security measures have been heightened across the city, with additional patrols and emergency response teams stationed near educational institutions.
