Delhi: Woman Biker Harassed, Chased by Two Men in Hauz Khas

A woman biker reported that two unidentified men on a motorcycle chased her in Delhi’s Hauz Khas area. The incident reportedly took place during the intervening night of September 11 and 12. According to her complaint, the men followed her while she was returning home from work. They allegedly passed vulgar comments and continued chasing her for several minutes. The incident left the woman seriously injured after she fell from her scooter.

Woman Alleges Harassment and Assault by Two Bike-Borne Men

The woman alleged that the two men deliberately rammed their motorcycle into her scooter. The impact caused her to lose control of the vehicle and fall on the road. The men allegedly fled the area immediately after hitting her scooter. Passersby noticed the injured woman and arranged an ambulance for her. Her colleague also reached the spot and took her to Max Hospital in Saket.

Doctors later shifted the woman to Medanta Hospital in Noida for further treatment. According to her complaint, the injuries were serious and doctors advised her to undergo plastic surgery. The woman has since travelled to her hometown in Uttar Pradesh while recovering from her injuries. She told police that she would cooperate with the investigation after her recovery. Police officials remain in contact with her regarding the case.

Delhi Police Examine CCTV, Launch Probe Into Incident

Police initially received information about the incident as a road accident. When officers reached the reported location, they found that the injured woman had already been taken to a hospital. Police examined CCTV footage collected from nearby areas but said they could not initially trace the alleged incident. Investigators have continued checking available footage and gathering information about the two unidentified suspects.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Anant Mittal said police have registered an FIR under the appropriate sections of law. He said officers remain in contact with the complainant while she receives treatment in her hometown. Police have launched a detailed investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident. The woman is expected to join the investigation after her recovery. Officers are also working to identify the motorcycle-borne men involved in the alleged assault.
