Andhra Pradesh: ‘Drunk’ Man Chews on Country-Made Bomb, Dies

In a tragic incident in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district, a 35-year-old man lost his life in an unusual accident when a homemade explosive device detonated in his mouth during the late hours on Monday.

This bizarre incident was reported at Gaddamvaripalli village in Bangarupalyam mandal. According to Bangarupalyam CI Nagaraju Rao, the victim was identified as M Chiranjeevi, a resident of Gaddamvaripalli.

Police said Chiranjeevi’s wife had an altercation with him and left home, after which he was quite dejected with his life and got addicted to alcohol.

Tragic Mishap in Andhra Pradesh

While what exactly happened is being probed by the police, preliminary investigations revealed that Chiranjeevi got drunk and was in an inebriated state, bit the edge of a country bomb, which exploded right in his mouth and face and got completely damaged in the incident.

Though neighbors and the local police rushed him immediately to the government hospital at Bangarupalyam, doctors declared that Chiranjeevi was already dead. Bangarupalyam police registered a case and shifted the body of the deceased for postmortem.

Police are trying to find out how and why Chiranjeevi was in possession of a country bomb in the first place.
