3 Million Indians Active on Extramarital App Gleeden, Bengaluru Tops with Most Users

Just when we believed “happily ever after” was the ultimate goal, Gleeden, the extramarital app, revealed surprising data about its Indian users. The company reports a remarkable 3 million users in India. It’s quite ironic that India, known for its grand weddings, has such a large number of married individuals using an extramarital dating app.

Gleeden in a statement shared that the app saw a 270 per cent surge in its user base in 2024. It saw a 128 per cent increase in women users. The report reveals that women now make up 58 per cent of Gleeden’s users. And 40 per cent of them spend up to 45 minutes daily on the app. Notably, many users fall within the 30-45 age range.

Sybil Shiddell, Gleeden’s Country Manager for India, views this growth as a sign of changing societal dynamics. “India has always been a pivotal market for Gleeden, and reaching the 3 million user mark is a testament to the evolving perceptions of relationships in the country. The growing interest of women users highlights the importance of platforms that prioritize safety, discretion, and freedom of choice in today’s world,” she said.

The report shows that Bengaluru leads with 20 percent of Gleeden’s user base, followed closely by Mumbai at 19 percent, Kolkata at 18 percent, and Delhi at 15 percent. While metro cities have the maximum users, the report also shows a rapid increase in users from smaller cities like Bhopal, Vadodara, and Kochi.

Gleeden isn’t stopping at 3 million. It has shared its plans to expand into more cities and roll out innovative features. The platform is eyeing a 5-million-strong community by next year.
