A woman in Airoli, who relied on a ventilator, sadly passed away in an ambulance as her oxygen supply was disrupted by a cylinder explosion, as per The Times of India’s report.
The victim, Nilabai Kavaldar (74), was being transported to her hometown in Karnataka for treatment. Unfortunately, a short circuit in the engine was followed by two successive blasts in the vehicle while it was on the Pune-bound lane of the Mumbai Pune Expressway.

At the time of the incident, there were seven people in the ambulance, including the victim. Although everyone managed to exit the vehicle, the woman passed away due to a lack of oxygen.
The report mentioned that following the initial explosion, the vehicle moved in reverse and collided with a parked motorcycle.
A subsequent blast resulted in severe damage to both the ambulance and the motorcycle.
The report mentioned that another ambulance had reaced the spot to rescue the patient but that was of no use.
