Devotees Decorate 130-Year-Old Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Mandir With 21 Thousand Sunflowers

Various blooms bloomed in the month of Chaitra, and one of the sunflowers was dedicated to the wealthy Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati. A total of 21 thousand sunflowers have been arranged from the temple’s apex to its centre. As a result, the temple area is accessible. Many followers are seen crowding around the Aras.

Decorative sunflowers do not produce oil seeds and these flowers are used only for decoration. The color of the flower petals is dark saffron and the center is black. These flowers are very attractive in appearance and remain well in water for 7-8 days after harvesting from the field. Due to the sunlight falling on the flowers planted on the top of the temple, these flowers are more visible. Besides seeing this aaras, devotees are flocking to capture this scene in their mobile phones.

On every festival or special day, Dagdusheth Ganapati temple is beautifully decorated. Sometimes there is a garland of mangoes and sometimes the whole temple is decorated in white with mango flowers. Along with that, fruits are also decorated, and citizens flock to see this arrangement. Rows of devotees can be seen on both sides of the temples.

A few days ago, 2 thousand kg of grapes were offered to Dagdusheth temple. Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Public Ganapati Trust celebrated grape festival in the temple on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi. The gabhara of the temple was decorated with black and green grapes. The grapes grown by the farmers of Sahyadri Farmers Producer Company in Nashik were decorated.
