According to the first reports, the tragedy happened as a religious ceremony was being held in front of a temple. At Babuji Maharaj Mandir, the holy function was being organised. The worshippers hurried inside a tin shed once it started to pour heavily.
According to sources, a sizable tree fell on the shed as a result of a combination of strong winds and heavy rain. Up to 12 people were huddled behind the tree. Five more victims were rescued and taken to the hospital in severe condition, while seven people were killed instantly.
“Where the devotees had sought refuge was a shack. At least seven people were killed when an enormous tree suddenly collapsed on them. Up to 12 people ended up trapped beneath the trees. Anil Jumle, a senior police official, stated that five people were receiving medical attention at the hospital.
According to Jumble, the tree was between 100 and 150 years old when it was uprooted by severe winds and torrential rain.
“The government will give the surviving family members of the deceased financial support, and the injured will get free medical care. I’ve asked for an investigation into what happened “Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, stated.
