17 injured as three buses collide on Nagpur-Tuljapur highway

17 passengers including the driver were injured in a freak accident when three ST Corporation buses collided one after the other. Many of them suffered serious injuries on their heads, hands and faces. This incident took place around nine o’clock this morning on the Nagpur Tuljapur highway near Janglapur fork near Mahabala.

According to the information received, a bus number MH40Y5585 of ST Corporation was standing on the road side near Janglapur fork in Mahabala Shivara due to a puncture. At this time, MH06S8090 Nagpur to Digras bus was standing behind it to pick up the passengers of the said bus. Meanwhile, MH20 BL 4104 bus going from Nagpur to Wardhya from Degalur to Nanded collided with both the buses which were standing while trying to overtake. This incident took place around 9 o’clock this morning near Janglapur Fata. 17 passengers including a bus driver were injured in this freak accident.

On getting the information about the accident, the Selu police immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital for treatment. MLA Dr Pankaj Bhoyer was also present at the spot. He helped to take the injured to the hospital from his vehicle. Along with this, he himself went to the hospital and inquired about the injured. After the said accident, the traffic here was stopped. Police constables Madavi and Vikram Kalmegh took the accident buses to the side of the road and made the traffic smooth. Police is conducting further investigation in this matter.
