Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany have outlined five key conditions for achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. After talks in London, the four leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Ukraine and emphasized the importance of maintaining international pressure to end the conflict. They said any peace process must protect Ukraine’s sovereignty and long-term security.
The proposed framework calls for an immediate halt to fighting and the start of negotiations based on the current situation on the battlefield. The leaders also stressed the need for strong security guarantees for Ukraine to prevent future aggression. They underlined that Ukraine must retain the right to decide its own security arrangements and international partnerships without external interference.
The European leaders highlighted the importance of continued involvement from the United States in any peace initiative. Their statement came as global attention has increasingly shifted toward tensions in the Middle East. Despite changing international priorities, the leaders said a durable settlement in Ukraine requires close coordination between Europe, the United States, and Ukraine.

Zelensky allies set five peace conditions
Meanwhile, fighting between Russia and Ukraine has intensified in recent weeks. Ukrainian forces have expanded their ability to strike targets deep inside Russian territory using advanced drone technology. On Saturday, Ukrainian drones targeted St. Petersburg during a major economic forum, marking one of the most significant long-range attacks carried out by Kyiv since the war began.
Ahead of the London meeting, Zelensky renewed his call for direct negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin through an open letter. However, Moscow has continued to reject such proposals, maintaining that Russia will only end the conflict once its strategic objectives are achieved. European leaders welcomed Zelensky’s appeal and backed efforts to establish direct talks with active participation from both Europe and the United States.
Ukraine also accused Russia of carrying out a drone strike near the Chornobyl nuclear site. Officials reported damage to a spent nuclear fuel storage facility, although no injuries occurred and radiation levels remained stable. Zelensky condemned the attack as a deliberate threat to nuclear safety, while Ukrainian authorities warned that strikes on critical nuclear infrastructure pose serious risks to regional security.
