Actor Ranveer Singh’s latest film Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, has taken the box office by storm, crossing ₹130 crore in India since its release on December 5. Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri showed support for the film, urging the team to ignore critics and celebrate their success. He shared on X, “Bravo @AdityaDharFilms and @RanveerOfficial, go knock it out of the park. Forget the naysayers. I know how tough it is to make films that challenge their ecosystem. Go celebrate. I’ll watch it when I’m back. Best always.”

By “naysayers,” Vivek Agnihotri refers to the significant social media discussions surrounding Dhurandhar and its box office performance, despite receiving mixed reviews. The press screening of the film was cancelled on Thursday, with some critics claiming the film was average, which led to speculation that the makers avoided the screening. Prior to the release, the film’s casting director, Mukesh Chhabra, also voiced his frustration over the negative reviews.
Mukesh Chhabra slams negative reviews of Dhurandhar ahead of release
Last Friday, Mukesh Chhabra expressed his frustration over the negative reviews of Dhurandhar, stating, “I’ve been reading so many unnecessary negative reviews, and honestly, it’s very funny. I was there as one of the HODs of the film. They even had to cancel the cast and crew screening due to a technical glitch. What kind of people are these? No one has seen the film, but they’re already spreading negativity. Haha. It will set the box office on fire! Can’t wait for the magic.” Dhurandhar, a spy thriller set in Pakistan, features Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy infiltrating terror networks in Lyari. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan in key roles.
