Muslim Woman Claims Doctor Denied Care in UP Row Erupts

A controversy has broken out in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, after a Muslim woman alleged that a doctor at the district hospital refused to treat her because of her religion. The incident reportedly happened earlier this month. The matter gained attention after a video went viral on social media, allegedly showing the doctor denying her treatment. However, hospital officials have denied the allegations, even as the video continues to stir debate online.

A row broke out in Jaunpur, UP, after a video showed a Muslim woman, Shama Parveen, alleging that a doctor at the district women’s hospital refused to treat her during delivery, saying, I won’t treat a Muslim woman. The incident happened on September 30, and the video surfaced on October 1. Hospital officials have denied the claim.

Religious Bias Claim Probed, FIR Against Two for Filming

After the video surfaced, the Chief Medical Superintendent questioned the doctor, who denied making any religious remark. An inquiry was conducted, and the matter was reported to higher authorities. Meanwhile, police filed an FIR against two local journalists for allegedly filming the video and damaging hospital property.
