Supreme Court Denies Bail to Key Accused
The Supreme Court on Monday refused bail to activists Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam in a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act linked to the alleged larger conspiracy behind the February 2020 Delhi riots. Highlighting the gravity of the allegations, the court said the two accused stood on a qualitatively different footing from the other persons named in the case.

Court Grants Relief to Five Co-Accused
At the same time, the top court granted bail to five other co-accused—Gulfisha Fatima, Meeran Haider, Shifa Ur Rehman, Mohd. Saleem Khan and Shadab Ahmad—after examining and differentiating their alleged roles.
