Solapur to host India’s second largest Startup Fest

Indian Council for Technical Research and Development is the Convener of India’s largest startup fest. The Nagpur Startup Fest, organized by the ICTRD, broke all records and was a massive success. To promote and sustain the startup ecosystem in the south-west region of Maharashtra, ICTRD collaborated with Solapur District administration and Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University and planned to organize another mega startup initiative, Solapur Startup Fest. The goal of this program is to promote and celebrate Solapur’s entrepreneurial spirit. For this, 100 entrepreneurs from the country will be invited to speak and educate the youth.

Solapur Startup Fest is a mission and goal to create a budding entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Solapur region and foster the spirit of the same in the long run. The festival will help the district’s new businesses. Several novel ideas will be presented to motivate and inspire young people. An online portal will be created to increase participation in the startup festival.

Recently, the Collector of Solapur, Milind Shambharkar organized a meeting to plan the Solapur Startup Fest. On this occasion, Member Secretary of Indian Council for Technical Research and Development Ketan Mohitkar, Chief Executive Officer Dilip Swamy, Municipal Deputy Commissioner Pushpagandha Bhagat, Assistant Commissioner Skill Development Sachin Jadhav, Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr.Rajesh Gadewar, Manager of District Pioneer Bank Prashant Nashikkar, Principal of various engineering College, and Officers from other government offices were present. 

A preliminary outline of the program was discussed in the meeting with all concerned departments, organizations, and other entities regarding the organization of the Startup Fest. ICTRD’s Ketan Mohitkar presented the concept of Solapur Startup Fest in the meeting. According to the Solapur District Magistrate Milind Shambharkar, an environment should be created for entrepreneurs to start new industries. He assured that efforts will be made to provide all the necessary resources to organize a successful Solapur startup fest and will also help innovators with the assistance of investors and academicians.
