Singer Sidhu Moose Wala cremated at his native village

Noted Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, had joined the Congress before the Punjab elections. He was killed by gangsters in an attack near his ancestral village Jawaharke in district Mansa, Punjab on Sunday. His fans, friends, family, and everyone who loved him paid their last tribute

The incident happened within 24 hours after his security was withdrawn by the Punjab government. More than 30 rounds were fired on the vehicle he was travelling in. Police said singer Sidhu appeared to have sustained more than eight bullet injuries. He was taken to the Mansa civil hospital where he passed away. The 27 years old was on the radar of gangsters for a long time. Six people have reportedly been detained in connection with the murder. Sidhu’s father has demanded the probe through a sitting judge of the high court. He demanded handing over investigations to CBI or NIA.

Security tightened infront of Moose Wala’s

Earlier, the police resorted to lathicharging outside Sidhu Moose Wala’s residence to disperse the crowd.

Security was stengthened in the area as fans shouted slogans against the Punjab government and the police. People demanding death for his murderers. The body of Sidhu Moose Wala was brought from the mortuary of the Civil Hospital in Mansa. Lawrence Bishnoi, lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, and Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar have claimed responsibility of murder.

Meanwhile, the post-mortem report of Moose Wala showed that he received 24 bullets. They were mostly on his chest and abdomen. He was also hit on his head and thighs when he was attacked on Sunday evening. He was attacked outside the Jawahar Ke village, around 10 kilometres from his home.

Meanwhile, Manpreet Singh Bhau was produced before a Mansa court and sent to police custody for five days. Manpreet Singh Bhau hails from the Dhapyi village in Faridkot. He is the cousin of Manpreet Singh Manna, who was locked up in Ferozpur jail. He was brought on remand on Monday by the Mansa Police in connection with the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. Manna is also a gangster and is in judicial custody for killing gangster Kulbir Naruana.
