Private Saloon Coach Booking Behind Viral Train Puja
Northern Railways soon released an official clarification to address the growing speculation surrounding the viral video. Officials confirmed that the ceremony did not take place inside a regular passenger compartment. Instead, the group had booked a private saloon coach through IRCTC for the journey. According to the Railways, the booking was completed on July 8 after the party paid ₹3,08,580 in advance. The saloon coach was attached to Train No. 12926 Paschim Express for its scheduled one-way journey from New Delhi to Mumbai. The clarification helped explain the circumstances behind the widely shared footage.
Railway authorities further stated that permission for the commercial operation of the saloon coach was granted on July 10. Officials explained that such approvals are issued only after considering operational feasibility and safety requirements. The Railways emphasized that passenger safety, security, punctuality, and convenience remain their highest priorities during every journey. They also confirmed that the priest was performing the abhishek ceremony exclusively inside the privately reserved saloon coach. No passengers outside the booked group were affected during the event. Authorities added that the ceremony caused no disruption to normal railway operations.
Northern Railways Says Ritual Did Not Affect Regular Passengers
The official response eased concerns that the rituals had interfered with public train services or inconvenienced regular passengers. Since the ceremony occurred inside a commercially booked coach, the event remained separate from the general passenger compartments. Many social media users appreciated the clarification and acknowledged that the group had followed the required booking process. However, others expressed surprise that individuals could reserve an entire railway saloon coach for private religious functions. The revelation generated fresh discussions about the availability and purpose of premium railway saloon services across India.
Despite the clarification, the video continued attracting attention and generated thousands of reactions across multiple social media platforms. Many users described the incident as another unusual moment involving Indian Railways that quickly captured public interest online. Some praised the Railways for providing timely information and preventing misinformation from spreading further. Others remained fascinated by the concept of privately booking railway saloon coaches for special occasions and ceremonies. The viral clip has now joined a long list of unique railway incidents that have sparked nationwide conversations and widespread online engagement.
