PM Modi Promises Tougher Anti-Paper Leak Law and Fast-Track Courts

The Prime Minister announced that the Union Cabinet would consider a proposal for a stronger anti-paper leak law. He said the proposed legislation would establish fast-track courts for examination-related offences and introduce tougher punishments for individuals involved in paper leaks and recruitment scams. Modi revealed that he had directed officials to prepare the legal draft on Thursday itself and confirmed that the Cabinet would discuss it the following day. He assured students that the government would work quickly to pass the Bill in Parliament. Through these measures, the Centre hopes to strengthen the examination process and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Modi also highlighted the government’s efforts to ensure that students did not lose an academic year because of the controversy. He explained that authorities organised examinations for nearly 22 lakh candidates in a short period after the paper leak surfaced. According to him, officials declared the results on July 19, allowing successful students to continue their academic plans without unnecessary delays. While acknowledging the achievements of students, Modi said the government would not stop at conducting examinations successfully. Instead, it would continue improving the system to eliminate malpractice and maintain fairness in competitive examinations across the country.
