
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met leading French business executives in Paris on Thursday to strengthen economic ties. The meetings followed his participation in the G7 Summit, where he engaged with global leaders. According to the External Affairs Ministry, cooperation covered shipping, logistics, railways, construction, and artificial intelligence. The interactions reflected India’s growing importance as a preferred destination for international investments and industrial partnerships. Mr. Modi highlighted the country’s commitment to infrastructure development and technological innovation through collaborative projects.

Among the executives, CMA CGM Chairman and CEO Rodolphe Saade held detailed discussions with Prime Minister Modi. Their talks focused on maritime shipping, logistics, global supply chains, and future infrastructure development projects. Mr. Saade said discussions included shipbuilding, ship recycling, deep-sea ports, and container manufacturing initiatives. He expressed confidence that these projects could create significant opportunities for cooperation between France and India. According to him, existing partnerships have delivered positive results and offer strong foundations for future growth.Mr. Saade said India has an increasingly important role in shaping global supply chains and trade networks. He welcomed India’s progress toward building container ships and expanding its maritime industrial capabilities. The French executive described these developments as a major step for strengthening international shipping operations.
