On Wednesday, the Indian Army reported that Pakistani troops had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and violated the ceasefire agreement in the Krishna Ghati area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident marks an escalation in tensions along the border as both nations have periodically faced confrontations and ceasefire violations. Clarification on LoC Sanctity and Mine Blast Incident: Risks of Ambiguity

A later update from the Indian Army did not specifically mention the intrusion across the LoC but clarified that the Army was maintaining the sanctity of the LoC. This update appeared to aim at preventing any misinterpretation that could escalate matters further. The mine blast incident, which took place in the Nangi Tikti area of the Krishna Ghati sector, highlighted the risks involved in the absence of clear demarcation along the LoC. Lieutenant Colonel Bartwal explained that both sides perceive the LoC differently, which can lead to misunderstandings.
