AISA Leader Neha Bora Attacked With Ink During Jharkhand Student Protest in Ranchi

AISA national president Neha Bora faced an ink attack during a student protest in Ranchi on Friday. Police detained the alleged attacker soon after the incident. Bora joined students protesting alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations. Students have raised concerns over alleged paper leaks and other problems. The protests focus on the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination and JSSC Combined Graduate Level examination. Bora later shared pictures showing ink covering her face, neck and clothes.

Neha Bora Faces Ink Attack During Ranchi Protest

Bora accused RSS-BJP supporters of throwing ink at her and around 20 women protesters. She said the incident would not silence the student movement. Bora called the ink a symbol of pride instead of shame. She also recalled facing baton charges and pellet firing during earlier protests in Delhi. Bora said students would continue raising their concerns despite such attacks. She urged young people to remain united against alleged injustice.

The AISA leader demanded transparency in all government recruitment examinations. She said authorities must accept responsibility for alleged paper leaks and examination irregularities. Bora also demanded the removal of private agencies facing corruption allegations. She said students would support the next protest planned for August 10. She also met women students observing a hunger strike in Ranchi. Bora praised their determination and urged the Jharkhand government to address their demands.

Students Demand Fair and Transparent Recruitment Exams

The Jharkhand government reached out to protesting students earlier this week. District officials visited the protest site and offered talks with five student representatives. However, students disagreed over whether officials should conduct talks publicly. They also discussed whether cameras should record the meeting. No agreement emerged between both sides during the initial discussions. The government later continued efforts to engage with the protesting students.

Several public figures have also supported the Jharkhand student protests. Activist Sonam Wangchuk spoke with hunger-striking JKLM leader Devendra Nath Mahto through a video call. Wangchuk urged Mahto to take water and salt while continuing his protest. Actor Sonakshi Sinha also expressed support through social media. NSUI national president Vinod Jakhar visited the protest site and met the students. The protesters continue demanding fair and transparent recruitment examinations.
