Authorities said an avalanche struck Sonamarg’s Sarbal area at 10:12 pm Tuesday, sending heavy snow downhill.
The avalanche engulfed houses and vehicles in the tourist area, but officials reported no injuries.
CCTV footage captured snow rushing forward, covering buildings and surrounding areas within seconds.

Fresh snowfall across Kashmir forced authorities to close the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway.
