He stated, “There will be no more talks, and I will take my fight to a logical end by contesting from Shivamogga.

Earlier, prior to seeking the meeting with Amit Shah, Eshwarappa had firmly stated that he would not alter his decision to contest the election unless the state BJP president, BY Vijayendra, son of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, is replaced before the polls.

He criticised BS Yediyurappa and his family

Stating a condition, he insisted that State BJP president B Y Vijayendra must be removed from his position before he would consider withdrawing his decision not to contest in Shivamogga. He criticised BS Yediyurappa and his family, alleging that “One family holding power within the state BJP is causing distress among Hindu workers and BJP members.”

Eshwarappa emphasized that his struggle is against the dominance of one family within the BJP in the state. Drawing parallels, he likened it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s criticism of the Congress for its “family culture”.

He asserted that just as Modi advocated freeing the Congress from the grip of one family, similarly, the BJP in the state needs to be liberated from the control of a single family. Eshwarappa expressed concern that party workers are distressed by this situation and declared his intention to contest in order to alleviate their suffering.
