Indian Americans Could Sway Key State Elections- Pramila Jayapal

The Chennai-born member of the U.S. House of Representatives, shared her thoughts on the upcoming U.S. Presidential elections and Kamala Harris’ prospects as the Democratic candidate. The interview took place during a diaspora canvassing event for Harris in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Jayapal, a prominent progressive voice in the U.S. Congress, emphasized the importance of Harris’ candidacy, noting that her election would be a historic moment for the U.S.

Harris, the first woman of South Asian and African American descent to run for vice president and potentially for president, has inspired large sections of the immigrant and minority communities, Jayapal said. Jayapal Backs Harris, Urges Minority Voter Turnout

According to Jayapal, Harris has the experience, leadership skills, and policy expertise to address the critical issues facing the nation, such as healthcare, economic inequality, and racial justice.
