Delhi Metro Blue Line Disrupted Between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar Due to Theft

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated that trains will run at reduced speed on the affected section throughout the day, causing delays.

Services on the Delhi Metro’s Blue Line were disrupted on Thursday following a reported cable theft between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar stations, according to PTI.

The Blue Line, a major corridor, links Dwarka Sector 21 with Vaishali and Noida City Centre.

DMRC announced that trains will run at reduced speed on the affected section, causing delays throughout the day.

“Train services on the Blue Line (Dwarka Sector 21 – Noida Electronic City/Vaishali) have been regulated since morning due to suspected theft and damage to signaling cables by miscreants between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar stations.”

The DMRC stated, “As a result, trains are operating at reduced speeds in this section, causing train bunching. However, normal services are running on the rest of the Blue Line.”

DMRC stated that they will fix the cable theft issue on the Blue Line between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar after operational hours at night.

“As trains run at reduced speed on the affected section during the day, there will be delays,” it added.

Normal services will remain operational on the other sections of the Blue Line. DMRC has urged passengers to plan their travel accordingly.

suspected drone on a metro track

In October, metro services between Uttam Nagar East and Uttam Nagar West were disrupted for more than 30 minutes due to a drone sighting on the tracks.

Police said they received an alert about a possible drone on the metro tracks and promptly arrived at the location.

After receiving the required authorization, CISF personnel removed the drone from the track. A senior police officer identified the drone as a small toy and confirmed that they found no suspicious items on it. The police seized the drone.

Following security clearance, DMRC resumed normal services across the entire Blue Line, from Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida Electronic City/Vaishali.
