Earlier in the day, a protest erupted after a piece of meat was discovered inside the Lord Shiva Temple, located within the Hanuman Temple premises under the jurisdiction of Tappachabutra Police Station.

Police Investigation Launched After Meat Found in Temple

According to a statement from Hyderabad Police, they received information on Wednesday morning regarding the presence of meat inside the temple premises.

Police swiftly responded to the situation, with senior officials visiting the temple to assess the scene.

A police official stated that the seized piece of meat, weighing approximately 250 grams, was later confirmed to be mutton. To determine how it ended up inside the temple, four teams were immediately deployed to analyze CCTV footage from the surrounding area.

During the investigation, footage from a nearby CCTV camera revealed that a cat had carried the meat in its mouth and entered the temple premises. The video evidence clearly showed the cat placing the meat behind the Shiva Lingam, confirming that there was no foul play involved.

Following these findings, police urged the public to avoid spreading rumors or misinformation about the incident.

Earlier, a temple committee member had told a TV channel that someone had deliberately thrown the meat inside. Devotees discovered it while arriving for prayers. This led to a protest outside the temple, where local residents and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) members gathered, raising slogans condemning the incident.

A case was initially registered, and police launched an investigation, which ultimately concluded with the clarification provided by the CCTV footage.
