The Board of Control for India (BCCI) announced a ₹7.5 crore cash reward for the Indian Under-19 cricket team after they defeated England in the 2026 Under-19 World Cup final. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia praised the team for their undefeated run and outstanding performance, expressing pride in their achievement and confirming the cash prize for the victorious squad.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told ANI that the entire country and the board take pride in the Under-19 team for winning the 2026 World Cup, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament, and defeating England in the final. He confirmed that BCCI will award the team a ₹7.5 crore cash prize. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the team, praising their exceptional performance and saying their victory will inspire young sportspersons across India, while wishing the players success in their future endeavours.

India U19 defeated England U19 by 100 runs in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 final in Harare, Zimbabwe, claiming their sixth title. Batting first, India posted a massive 411/9, led by Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s explosive 175 off 80 balls, including 15 fours and 15 sixes. Captain Ayush Mhatre added 53 runs from 51 balls, while Abhigyan Kundu scored a quick 40 off 31 balls. England’s Caleb Falconer fought hard with 115 runs, but the team fell short of the 412-run target. India also set a new Youth ODI final record by hitting 31 sixes, surpassing the previous record of 23, and extended their Under-19 World Cup tally from 2000, 2008, 2012, 2018, and 2022, while England continues to seek a second title since 1998.
