Bharti Airtel has revised its prepaid tariff plans by removing the Rs 799 option and increasing the price of its Rs 859 plan to Rs 899. Earlier, the Rs 799 and Rs 859 plans offered 77 and 84 days of validity with 1.5GB and 2GB of daily data, respectively. Now, users seeking 1.5GB per day for 84 days must choose the Rs 899 plan, while those wanting higher data can opt for the Rs 1,029 plan with 2GB daily data.

Rs 859 prepaid plan now Airtel costs Rs 899, benefits adjusted
The new Rs 899 plan provides 1.5GB of data per day for 84 days, along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day. However, it no longer includes the RewardsMini subscription benefit that earlier came with the Rs 859 plan, which offered monthly cashback. The discontinued Rs 799 plan previously gave 1.5GB high-speed data per day for 77 days, along with unlimited calls and daily SMS benefits.
For users who prefer more data, Airtel continues to offer the Rs 1,029 plan, which includes 2GB of daily data for 84 days along with unlimited 5G access, calling benefits, and roaming services. This plan also bundles a three-month subscription to JioHotstar mobile. The company has steadily adjusted its pricing strategy, focusing on higher-value plans instead of lower-cost options.
Airtel has made similar changes in the past as well. In November 2025, it removed its Rs 189 entry-level plan and shifted the base price to Rs 199. It also increased the price of its international roaming pack from Rs 4,000 to Rs 4,999, offering 365 days of validity with limited data, call minutes, and SMS benefits. Earlier, Vice-Chairman and MD Gopal Vittal indicated that the company sees room for tariff hikes, noting that data prices in India remain comparatively low.
