Trump repeats assertion of stopping India-Pakistan war

At the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, Donald Trump again claimed that he had stopped multiple international conflicts within a year, including tensions between India and Pakistan. He said he prevented wars involving Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, Israel and Iran, and Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Later, in a post on Truth Social, Trump repeated his assertion that he averted a nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan. He credited U.S. military strength for preventing wars globally. Trump said he rebuilt the American military during his first term, upgraded nuclear capabilities, created the Space Force, and expanded naval power.

Trump Claim repeated over 90 times since 2025

Trump also claimed that the United States stopped nuclear wars between Pakistan and India, Iran and Israel, and Russia and Ukraine. He has made the India-Pakistan claim more than 90 times since May 10 last year. At that time, he announced that the two countries had agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire after talks mediated by Washington. However, India has consistently rejected Trump’s version of events. Indian officials have maintained that any understanding between India and Pakistan occurred through direct bilateral channels. New Delhi has repeatedly stated that it does not accept third-party mediation on issues involving Pakistan, including matters related to security and ceasefires.

Diplomatic observers note that Trump’s claims contrast sharply with India’s long-standing foreign policy position. Analysts say the repeated assertions could complicate diplomatic narratives, especially as India continues to stress strategic autonomy and bilateral engagement. While Trump’s statements have drawn attention in U.S. political discourse, Indian authorities have chosen not to engage directly with the claims. Instead, they have reiterated their position through official statements, underlining that no external power intervened in India-Pakistan discussions.
