Former U.S. President Donald Trump co-hosted the Gaza Peace Summit with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. He praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “good friend” and applauded his leadership. Trump also acknowledged Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation for peace. He turned to Sharif and joked, “He is going to help make that happen, right?” Trump emphasized that regional peace depends on “good friends doing good things” through collective diplomatic efforts.

Trump claimed he helped prevent a nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan during tense military standoffs.
Sharif thanked Trump publicly for de-escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed South Asian neighbors. He credited Trump and his team for averting war during a dangerous four-day military crisis.
Trump mentioned that he stopped “eight conflicts,” including India–Pakistan tensions, while addressing Israel’s parliament. He also said that India and Pakistan “will live nicely together,” drawing laughter from Sharif. India welcomed the ceasefire agreement, calling it a landmark step toward lasting regional peace and stability.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared India’s support on X, expressing optimism about peace prospects in Gaza. Singh’s presence marked India’s first high-level engagement with Trump since Operation Sindoor began last year. India reiterated its hope that regional peace efforts would gain strength through multilateral cooperation and trust.

Prime Minister Modi praised Trump’s peace diplomacy and the success of the Gaza ceasefire deal.
In a post on X, Modi applauded Trump’s “unwavering efforts” to broker peace with commitment. He also welcomed the release of the last 20 Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. Modi said their release reflected strong determination and honored the families who endured years of fear. He praised both Trump and Netanyahu for their role in securing a breakthrough for the hostages. The leaders hailed it as a historic moment and a “new day” for the troubled region.
Trump declared the agreement a major diplomatic victory following two years of war and bloodshed. The summit drew praise from the international community for facilitating prisoner exchange and civilian aid delivery. Participants hoped the agreement would restore stability and rebuild trust between Israel, Hamas, and regional allies.
