Donald Trump launches $15 billion lawsuit targeting The New York Times

US President Donald Trump filed a \$15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times.** He accused the newspaper of spreading false stories about him over several decades. Trump criticized their reporting on his alleged connections to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He claimed the paper has engaged in a “decades-long method” of lying about him, his family, and his business. Trump announced the lawsuit on his platform, Truth Social, and confirmed he will file it in Florida.

He slammed The New York Times for acting as a “mouthpiece” for the radical Left Democrat Party. He described the newspaper as one of the most degenerate and dishonest in American history. Trump called the lawsuit the largest illegal campaign contribution ever made. He also criticized the Times for prominently endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris on its front page. Trump expressed pride in holding the paper accountable for spreading falsehoods about his America First movement and MAGA.

Trump Sues WSJ Over Epstein Coverage Amid International Fallout

Trump referenced previous legal victories against major media outlets, including ABC and CBS, accusing them of smearing his image through manipulated documents and visuals. The New York Times, according to Trump, has long misused press freedom to defame him, his family, and political movement. The latest lawsuit, filed in Florida, aims to halt what Trump described as the newspaper’s illegal and harmful conduct. Supporters were thanked publicly as the case moves forward.

Simultaneously, a House committee made public a collection of letters and photographs reportedly sent to Trump from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate. Among them was a message from former President Bill Clinton and a controversial note allegedly written by Trump inside a sketch of a naked woman. The materials contained explicit references to Epstein’s interest in women and suggested past encounters. Trump denied any involvement in the creation of the letter or the accompanying drawing, despite the presence of his name and apparent signature.

Additional legal action targeted The Wall Street Journal and its owner, Rupert Murdoch, over reporting tied to the Epstein case. The scandal has also reached international levels, prompting the United Kingdom to withdraw its ambassador to Washington amid related allegations. Trump has maintained that all ties with Epstein were severed long before criminal activities became public. Through ongoing defamation lawsuits, the former president continues to challenge what he calls coordinated media misinformation. The disputes underscore persistent tensions between Trump and major news organizations regarding coverage of the Epstein case.
