Hours after an ICE officer fatally shot a 37-year-old woman in Minneapolis, President Donald Trump blamed the victim.
Trump told reporters that the woman attempted to run over the officer.
When questioned about firing into a vehicle, Trump defended the officer’s actions.
He told The New York Times that the woman behaved badly and caused the confrontation.

Trump later played video footage of the shooting for reporters.
Before showing the footage, he acknowledged the seriousness of the incident.
He said he disliked seeing such events occur.
Trump described the encounter as violent and dangerous.
After the video ended, he called the scene terrible and distressing.
The shooting sparked protests across multiple cities in the United States.

Video footage shows ICE agents approaching a car stopped in the roadway.
As the vehicle moved forward, an agent aimed a gun at the driver.
At least two gunshots can be heard in the video.
The car then appeared to lose control and crashed into a parked vehicle.
Vice President JD Vance defended the officer involved in the shooting.
Vance accused Good of attempting to run over a federal officer.
He said the officer fired his weapon in self-defence.
Vance claimed other video angles showed the woman striking the officer with her vehicle.
Federal and local officials offered conflicting accounts of the incident.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem accused Good of stalking officers throughout the day.
Noem claimed she tried to weaponise her vehicle during the confrontation.
She described the act as domestic terrorism.

However, the Minneapolis City Council disputed the federal account.
Council members said Good had been assisting neighbours at the time.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz rejected the federal narrative.
He promised a full, fair, and timely investigation into the shooting.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara provided a separate account of events.
He said Good sat inside her vehicle while blocking traffic on Portland Avenue.
O’Hara stated that she drove off as an officer approached on foot.
The fatal shooting occurred during that moment, he said.
