‘Butt of jokes, displaying a lack of professionalism…’ Trudeau political rival takes aim at him regarding his disagreement with India

During an interview with Nepal’s Namaste Radio Toronto, Poilievre expressed his disapproval of the current status of Canada’s relationship with India. He held Trudeau responsible for what he saw as “inefficiency and a lack of professionalism.” Additionally, he committed to reestablishing a “competent relationship” with India should his party come to power.

“Justin Trudeau is widely regarded as a subject of ridicule in India, the world’s largest democracy,” stated Poilievre, emphasizing that this situation is another illustration of Trudeau’s perceived inadequacy after his eight-year tenure.

“He has fostered divisions among Canadians domestically, while causing significant rifts in our international relationships,” the Canadian opposition leader remarked. He emphasized that Trudeau’s perceived incompetence and unprofessionalism have resulted in substantial disputes with major global powers, including India.

“We must establish a diplomatic and professional rapport with the Indian government,” the opposition leader declared. He highlighted that while it’s natural to have differences and maintain accountability, it’s crucial to maintain a professional relationship, which he intends to reinstate once he becomes the country’s prime minister.

Additionally, Poilievre criticized several facets of Trudeau’s foreign policy, alleging that the Canadian prime minister permitted President Joe Biden to exploit him and accused China of meddling in Canadian democracy.

Beijing is intruding into our nation, establishing police stations in Canada for mistreating our citizens,” he remarked, further noting, “President Biden is consistently outmaneuvering Trudeau, treating him with disregard, and handling him with little respect.”
