Rishi Sunak: PM’s popularity plunges to record low amid Rwanda row

The survey conducted from Monday evening to Tuesday morning this week showed that Sunak garnered a negative opinion from 70% of participants, while only 21% held a favorable view.

Rishi Sunak, the British Prime Minister, is experiencing his lowest favorability since taking office at Downing Street, according to a recent YouGov survey. The net favorability rating has declined by 10 percentage points since late November.

The survey, conducted between Monday evening and Tuesday morning this week, revealed that a substantial 70% of respondents held an unfavorable opinion of Sunak, while only 21% expressed a favorable view. This notably marked Sunak’s lowest-ever net favorability score of -49, drawing parallels to former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s ratings in his concluding months in office.

YouGov emphasized the severity of this decline by stating that Sunak’s score is comparable to the unfavorable ratings Johnson received. The findings indicate a rapid and significant downturn in Sunak’s public perception, reflecting the challenges and shifts in sentiment surrounding his leadership within a relatively short period.
