In an interview with US’s Newsweek magazine, PM Modi stated that India places significant importance on its relationship with China. He expressed the belief that resolving the prolonged border situation is essential to move past the current abnormal state of bilateral interactions.
Prime Minister Modi expressed optimism about the possibility of restoring peace at the India-China borders through constructive engagement. He emphasised that stable and peaceful relations between the two countries are crucial not only for India and China but also for the wider region and the world.

PM Modi conveyed his hope and belief that by engaging in positive and constructive dialogue at both diplomatic and military levels, India and China would be able to achieve and maintain peace and tranquillity along their borders.
