At 52 years old, Nikki Haley, the former US Ambassador to the UN, has voiced concerns about the potential re-election of former US President Donald Trump. One of her apprehensions pertains to the threat she perceives to the NATO alliance.

Expressing her concerns to ABC News, Nikki Haley, the former US Ambassador to the UN, emphasized that if Donald Trump is re-elected, there are various issues she finds worrisome, with the threat to the NATO alliance being one of them. She highlighted NATO’s 75-year success story.

Haley stands as the sole remaining candidate against Trump

In the 2024 Republican Party’s presidential nomination race, Nikki Haley stands as the sole remaining candidate against Trump.

The two-term former governor from South Carolina, Haley, points out that Russia has never invaded a NATO country. She attributes this to the historical tendency of Russia to feel significantly intimidated by the alliance.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) comprises 31 member states, including 29 European nations and two North American countries.

Nikki Haley emphasized the significance of maintaining NATO’s strength, stating that even China is intimidated by this alliance. She responded to recent remarks by Trump in South Carolina, where he suggested encouraging Russia to take action against any NATO member country not meeting defense spending guidelines.
