Myanmar Army plane, carrying 14 people, crashed at Lengpui airport in Mizoram.On Tuesday, a Myanmar Army plane crash-landed at Lengpui airport in Mizoram, resulting in injuries to six individuals. The aircraft, carrying a total of 14 people, including the pilot, led to the hospitalization of the injured individuals at Lengpui Hospital, as reported by the Mizoram Director General of Police.
According to preliminary reports, the aircraft, which had come to collect Myanmar Army personnel that had recently entered India, experienced damage as it deviated off the runway at Lengpui airport.

The incident occurred on the same day when an official from the Assam Rifles revealed that India repatriated 184 Myanmar soldiers to their homeland. These soldiers had sought refuge in Mizoram last week after engaging in armed conflicts with an ethnic insurgent group.
Myanmar soldiers fleed to India
On January 17, armed with weapons and ammunition, Myanmarese soldiers entered Bandukbanga village situated at the trijunction of India-Myanmar-Bangladesh in the southernmost district of Lawngtlai, Mizoram. Approaching the Assam Rifles for assistance, they fled to Mizoram after fighters from the ‘Arakan Army’ overtook and seized their camp.
Upon their arrival, the officials guided the Myanmarese soldiers to the nearby Assam Rifles camp in Parva. Later, the official reported that a considerable number of them were transferred to Lunglei.

The Assam Rifles have been supervising them since then, stated the official. Over the weekend, the 276 soldiers, led by a colonel and comprising 36 officers and 240 lower-rank personnel, were transported to Aizawl for their journey back to Myanmar from Lengpui airport. Of them, 359 soldiers have already been sent back to their country, they said
In November, Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters transported 104 Myanmar Army personnel from various locations in Mizoram to the border town of Moreh in Manipur, where authorities subsequently repatriated them. Similarly, earlier this month, Myanmar Air Force planes repatriated 255 soldiers through Lengpui airport. Mizoram shares a 510-km-long border with Myanmar.
