Netanyahu Desi Look Wife Twinning in Saffron With PM Modi

Narendra Modi arrived in Tel Aviv on Wednesday (February 25) for a short yet high-profile visit, where he received a warm welcome from his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara Netanyahu. The leaders exchanged greetings at the airport, but it was a small fashion detail that quickly caught public attention.

PM Modi wore a traditional white kurta-pyjama paired with a sleeveless jacket and a saffron pocket square. Netanyahu noticed that the saffron accent perfectly matched his wife’s orange jacket and playfully pointed it out. The light-hearted observation instantly became a talking point online.

“You see what she wore?” Netanyahu said, gesturing toward Modi’s pocket square and then to Sara’s outfit. PM Modi immediately recognized the match and replied with a smile, “Yes, saffron.” The candid exchange added a personal touch to the diplomatic welcome.

Sara Netanyahu warmly interacted with the Indian Prime Minister and described India as a “wonderful country.” She expressed her desire to visit again, while Netanyahu praised Modi as a “wonderful leader,” highlighting the strong rapport between the two sides.

Continuing what many called “dress diplomacy,” Netanyahu later surprised PM Modi by wearing traditional Indian attire before their joint dinner. He shared the video on social media, saying he wanted to surprise his friend with the thoughtful gesture.

As the clips went viral, social media users highlighted the visible camaraderie between the two leaders. Many described the moment as a reflection of the growing strategic partnership between India and Israel, applauding the warm and symbolic welcome.

During his visit, PM Modi addressed Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to do so. In his speech, he reaffirmed India’s strong support for Israel in its fight against terrorism and emphasized deeper bilateral cooperation.
