Indian Creator Accuses Japan Store of Racism, Says Police Were Called After He Identified Himself

An Indian digital creator, Anant M, has alleged that he experienced racist treatment at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Shizuoka, Japan. He shared a video on Instagram describing the incident, which reportedly took place on the final day of his visit. The video quickly gained attention online and sparked discussions about racial discrimination against foreign visitors in Japan. Many social media users expressed concern over the incident and shared their opinions on the matter.

Indian Traveler Says Store Owner Called Police After Learning He Was Indian

According to Anant, the incident began after he asked a Nepali employee at the store to reheat his food. The staff member agreed to help, but the store owner allegedly intervened, started shouting, and questioned him aggressively about his nationality. Anant claimed that the situation changed immediately after he revealed that he was from India. He alleged that the owner then contacted the police and accused him of misconduct without any valid reason.

Japanese police officers soon arrived at the store and investigated the matter. Anant informed them that he had recorded the entire interaction on his phone and requested that they review the footage before taking any action. After examining the situation, the officers reportedly found that Anant had done nothing wrong. According to the creator, the police treated him respectfully and reprimanded the store owner for her behavior.

Police Found No Misconduct and Reprimanded the Store Owner
