Woman dies after being shot by US immigration agent in Minneapolis

A US immigration agent fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, igniting protests and intense political backlash. Officials offered sharply conflicting accounts of the deadly encounter. The Department of Homeland Security said Good attempted to run over Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Federal officials described the shooting as an act of self-defence.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey rejected that account and accused an agent of reckless use of force.
He angrily told ICE officials to leave the city. Videos online appear to show agents confronting Good in her maroon SUV on a residential street. An officer fired as the vehicle moved away before crashing into a parked car.

President Trump defended the agent and blamed left-wing groups for targeting law enforcement officers.
He said an injured ICE officer later recovered in hospital. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz dismissed federal statements as propaganda and promised a full investigation. State authorities said they would ensure accountability and justice.

Protests spread across Minneapolis and other US cities following the shooting. Residents demanded ICE withdraw from local communities. The incident occurred near where police killed George Floyd in 2020. That proximity intensified national attention and public outrage.
