India: Protests and Violence Fuel Regional Unrest
Public anger has spilled onto the streets as protests erupted in Kolkata over the alleged lynching of a Hindu man in Bangladesh. Leaders and members of various Hindu organisations, led by Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, staged demonstrations near the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission on December 22, demanding justice and accountability.
