Elon Musk Exits Trump Government: ‘My Time Comes To An End’

Elon Musk announced his term as DOGE chief ended. He thanked the US President, Trump for reducing wasteful spending. Musk stated DOGE’s mission will strengthen over time. It will become a “way of life” in government.

His departure follows Musk’s first criticism of Trump. Musk said Trump’s spending bill raises deficit. It also undermines DOGE’s work. “A bill can be big or beautiful,” Musk stated. “But not both, my personal opinion.”

Musk was Trump’s largest 2024 donor. He joined pre-poll outings. He remained firmly by Trump’s side. Trump praised Musk in his victory speech. He beamed, “a star is born.”

By late April, Musk started pulling back. He said DOGE became a “whipping boy” for dissatisfaction. He admitted not reaching all goals. A judge ruled Musk faces a lawsuit. It’s for illegal power as DOGE head. DOGE also faces cases blocking agency access. These records hold Americans’ private data.
