Danish Couple Travel 7,000 km Across India in Search of Their Adopted Son’s Birth Mother

A Journey Across India for Answers

Louis and Rasmus, a couple from Denmark, have travelled nearly 7,000 km to Telangana’s Adilabad district to trace the biological mother of their adopted son, Arjun, also known as Danish. In their search, they have visited several tribal villages, including Chillatiguda, Tekidiguda, Chorgoan and Sungapur. Wherever they went, villagers welcomed them warmly with drums and traditional shawls, treating the couple like family rather than outsiders. Their journey has turned into a deeply emotional experience, marked by compassion and community support.

Searching for Roots, Not Separation

Arjun was abandoned as an infant at RIMS Hospital in Adilabad in 2016, reportedly due to deformities in his fingers. Authorities later moved him to an orphanage, and through India’s legal adoption process, Louis and Rasmus adopted him when he was two years old. He has since grown up in Denmark in a loving and secure environment. As he grew older, Arjun began asking questions about his birth mother and expressed a strong desire to meet her. Respecting his feelings, the couple decided to help him reconnect with his roots.

With help from the Adopt Right Council, a volunteer organisation, the couple started their search. Advocate Anjali Pawar, the council’s director, clarified that the goal is not to separate Arjun from his adoptive parents, but to give him clarity about his origins. Louis and Rasmus plan to stay in Adilabad for a week and have assured complete privacy. They said that if they find Arjun’s birth mother, they will support her financially and maintain a respectful relationship, hoping to build a bridge of trust between two lives.
